Biyi Bandele, also known as Biyi Bandele-Thomas, was a Nigerian novelist, playwright, and filmmaker. Born in Kafanchan, Nigeria, he moved to the UK in 1990. Bandele’s notable works include the novel Burma Boy and the play Oroonoko. He directed the film adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Half of a Yellow Sun and the Netflix series Blood Sisters. His works often explore themes of history, identity, and post-colonialism
