Azade Shahmiri is an Iranian theatre director, performance artist, and writer, currently based in Tehran and Berlin. She earned her degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Tehran in 2009 and holds a PhD in Art Studies. Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses theatre, performance, lecture, and installation, often intertwining personal narratives with historical documents and archival materials. Notable works include Quasi (2021), Tempor(e)ality (2021), and Voicelessness (2017), which have been showcased at various international festivals across Europe and Asia. Shahmiri also engages in teaching and mentoring within theatre schools and workshops in Iran.
