Anthony Creighton was a British actor and playwright, best known for co-authoring the play Epitaph for George Dillon with John Osborne. Creighton served as a navigator in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for his bravery. After the war, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and pursued a career in theatre.
In 1949, Creighton formed the travelling company Sage Repertory Group, where he met John Osborne. Their collaboration led to the creation of Epitaph for George Dillon, which premiered in 1957 at the Royal Court Theatre in London. The play explores themes of identity and artistic struggle, reflecting the disillusionment of post-war Britain.
