Anoushka Warden

Stage Debut

2018

Anoushka Warden is a British playwright and theatre-maker whose work often explores personal and social identity. She first gained attention with her autobiographical play My Mum’s a Twat (2017), a one-woman show staged at the Royal Court Theatre that candidly and humorously recounts her experience of growing up with a mother involved in a cult. Warden’s style is marked by its raw, confessional tone and her use of personal narrative to explore broader themes of belief, identity, and family. Her work continues to evolve, blending dark humour with emotionally resonant storytelling.

Warden spoke to Simon Stephens and Emily Legg in BONUS TRACK! S2 Ep16 of Playwright’s Podcast.
