Alia Bano

Alia Bano is an award winning British playwright and teacher. Her debut play Shades was performed at the Royal Court Theatre, earning her the Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle Award. She wrote Hens for SkyArtsLive and Parwana, performed at the Wexner Center in Ohio in 2019. She began writing in the Royal Court Theatre’s young playwrights program.

In 2011, Bano took part in the Bush Theatre’s 2011 project Sixty-Six Books, writing a piece based on a book of the King James Bible
