Adam Brace was a British playwright and director renowned for his socially conscious works. His debut play, Stovepipe, received critical acclaim for its site-specific production and exploration of the Iraq War.

Brace contributed to the Royal Court Theatre as a writer and dramaturg. In 2010, he was part of a team of writers involved in Peckham: The Soap Opera, a community-based project by the Royal Court that engaged local residents and artists Bola Agbaje and Rachel De-lahay to create a piece reflecting the diverse experiences of the Peckham community in South London. His involvement in this project demonstrated his commitment to using theatre as a means of community engagement and storytelling and helped develop new voices in British theatre and advance contemporary playwriting.

Beyond his work with the Royal Court, Brace’s plays were produced by various leading theatre companies. His career also encompassed directing and mentoring, shaping the next generation of playwrights.
